Have you ever felt that your day was just presented to you, all events just happened outside of your control. There is two ways to cope with it, accept it or do something about it.
You probably figured me out by now, and you are right, I am giving you a solution, so you can do something about it. The good news is that you need nothing to make it work, no training, no books, no nothing. Nothing but your mind.
All you have to do is plan… Plan you day. Visualize the things you will accomplish during the day. You can imagine in your mind how will it feel when you accomplished it, whatever you wanted to achieve. Take control, do something that is important in your work, you have not done before. Take control. There is an idea you always wanted to implement but never started. A person giving you trouble and you just let it go every day? Time to take control and plan your day, visualize how it will work out.
Do not underestimate the things around you, our life has many disturbance factors like meeting requests, emails, phone calls. Allow time for those, so only put in to your day what is possible to fit. It is a good start to plan 20% of your work time first and commit to the outcomes. If you are a had worker you put in 12 hours or so into your job, so all you need is 2 hours that is pushing you forward. Make 1 hour for your project, schedule a meeting with the people you need to talk to. Take charge, imagine the outcome and move yourself in action.
What is the difference between just scheduling the meeting because you have to make progress with your project?… Well, the outcome. As you played forward in your head the outcome, you will have a positive impact on the events during the day. Try it out and you will be amazed by what you can achieve.
